Volunteering

The opportunity of volunteering with RAIN energizes individuals in faith communities in both rural and urban areas. RAIN church and temple programs encourage discussion and understanding in settings where myths and misinformation hinder compassionate care.

CareTeam Members:

Volunteers attend an initial training session to learn about many aspects of HIV/AIDS:

  • Current statistics
  • Universal precautions
  • Social and emotional impact of the disease
  • Spirituality of HIV/AIDS

Transportation:

RAIN needs volunteers to provide transportation to medical appointments. Please call 704-372-7246.

Special Events:

RAIN also needs volunteers for special events, including:

  • AIDS Walk (Annual May event)
  • CarePartner Socials (Quarterly)
  • White Party fundraiser - parking (Annual September event)
  • Gay BINGO fundraiser (Spring and Fall Seasons)
  • Queen City Cotillion fundraiser (annual November event)
  • Other fundraisers as they are developed during the year

Office Administration:

RAIN needs volunteers to help with:

  • Mailing projects (folding, stuffing, labeling, etc.)
  • Inputting information into our database
  • Researching and cleaning up records
  • Other administrative projects as they may arise
