Healthy relationships / Life skills Group
At this point in time, there is no cure for AIDS nor is there a vaccine that will prevent its spread. Therefore, if there is any hope of stopping this disease, we must prevent it from being spread. RAIN is keenly aware of the great opportunity we have to help those already infected with HIV understand the importance of prevention efforts. As a result, RAIN works closely with clients to encourage compliance with medical treatment regimens and safe, responsible behavior choices.
Healthy Relationships is a five session small group which seeks to encourage, empower, and educate persons living with HIV/AIDS to live a healthy lifestyle. The group’s focus is the development of various coping skills needed in making decisions regarding all aspects of life.
Life Skills group provides a safe, confidential arena for discussion, opportunities to fellowship with other men and women living with HIV/AIDS, and lifelong tools for coping with stress, self-esteem issues, and behavioral concerns (graduating from Healthy Relationships is a prerequisite for participating in Life Skills).
